Food oil packing plant – here we go

In December 2023, MBF Group SA and Chantii Oil Sp. z o.o. signed an agreement to establish a consortium. The agreement stipulates that MBF Group SA will be the exclusive supplier of rapeseed and sunflower oil to Chantia Oil, which in turn will package and distribute the product on the Polish and foreign markets. The cooperation is aimed at establishing a joint plant to bottle canola oil and sunflower oil.

Located in Brodnica (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship), the packaging plant has the potential to become one of the largest in Poland. The cooperation between MBF Group SA and Chantii Oil Sp. Ltd. gives both companies a chance for dynamic growth in the cooking oil industry. We will not be limited to one type of product. I plan to confection canola, sunflower and soybean oil.

Main stages of preparation:

  • Adaptation of the hall: includes construction of the necessary installations (ventilation, cooling, drainage), installation of production equipment (tanks, pumps, filling and labeling lines) and adaptation of the space for staff work.
  • Commissioning of equipment: calibration of equipment, production tests, development of sanitation procedures.

Information on plant preparation:

  • The plant will use the latest technology to ensure the high quality and safety of the oils produced.
  • The project also includes the construction of storage and administrative facilities.
  • Environmental standards are being followed during construction.
  • Cooking oils have a short shelf life, so strict sanitation procedures will be in place at the plant, including. HACCP and GHP system.

Preparing a production line for packaging cooking oils is a complex process that requires specialized knowledge and experience. Careful adherence to sanitary requirements and environmental protection are key to ensuring product safety and quality. In December 2023, work began on adapting the production hall to meet the needs of the new plant. According to the plan, the bottling plant for packaging cooking oils into bottles will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2024. It will be located in Brodnica, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province.

The first stage is the adaptation of the production hall to meet the needs of the new plant. This includes:

  • Make the necessary installations, such as ventilation, cooling and drainage systems.
  • Install production equipment such as tanks, pumps, filling and labeling lines.
  • Adjust the space for staff work, including providing adequate storage space for raw materials and finished products.

Once the adaptation work is completed, the commissioning of production equipment should be carried out. This includes:

  • Perform calibration of equipment.
  • Conduct production tests to verify that the equipment is working properly.
  • Development of sanitation procedures

The plant is designed to use the latest technology to ensure high-quality production of cooking oils that meet the highest standards of safety and hygiene. The investment includes comprehensive planning and construction of production, storage and administrative facilities, taking into account the optimization of logistics and operational processes. In addition, environmental standards are followed during the construction of the plant, including the use of environmentally friendly technological solutions and the minimization of negative impacts on the surrounding nature. Through systematic reporting on the progress of construction, shareholders are kept informed of the stages of the project and the milestones achieved, which contributes to transparency of operations and building trust with the community and customers.

Cooking oils are a product with a short shelf life, so it is necessary to follow strict sanitation procedures. These procedures should include, but not be limited to:

  • System HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), which identifies and controls food safety hazards.
  • GHP (Good Hygienic Practices) guidelines, which outline general hygiene principles for food processing plants.

Under the said agreement, MBF Group SA will supply the raw material for packaging, while Chantii Oil will be responsible for production and packaging. We will also handle sales and distribution of the finished product. The cooperation between MBF Group SA and Chantii Oil Sp. Ltd. will benefit both companies. For MBF Group SA, this will be an opportunity to increase revenues from the sale of cooking oils. The company will be able to use its wholesale experience to attract new customers in Poland and abroad. Chantii Oil Sp. Ltd. will also benefit from this cooperation. The company will have access to a stable source of raw material, allowing it to increase production and expand its operations.

Briefly summarizing the benefits for MBF Group SA, the following stand out:

  • Increase revenue. MBF Group SA will have the opportunity to increase revenues from the sale of rapeseed and sunflower oil.
  • Cost optimization. Cooperation with Chantii Oil Sp. z o.o. will allow MBF Group SA to optimize costs related to the production and distribution of cooking oils.
  • Expanding the sales market. Cooperation with Chantii Oil Sp. z o.o. will allow MBF Group SA to expand its market for cooking oils.

We invite our current and potential Shareholders to watch a report from the “construction site”. The landscape is changing for us every day – in the beginning there was a lot of heavy work outside – now the whole thing is already taking place inside the hall. Oil tanks with a total capacity of 180 MT (about 181,600 liters of oil) are ready. In a few days, a complete production line for packaging, which was purchased late last year, will arrive. After complete installation, we will conduct and document for you in the form of photos and videos the course of the tests. We also expect to receive key certifications soon: from Sanepid and HACCP. As these are key news, we will report on them with ESPI current reports.
