Teleconference with Orlen SA and certification of KZR

For Friday, February 9, our company received an invitation to hold a joint teleconference with ORLEN SA and ORLEN South SA, a national champion and energy multinational, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the supply of vegetable oils and UCO (used vegetable oil). The meeting was aimed at discussing the basics of the contractor’s purchasing needs and the offers MBF Group can offer for supply.

During the meeting, basic information on the demand and requirements for vegetable oils and UCO within the ORLEN Group was presented. General information about MBF Group and the products offered was presented. In addition, the current status of UCO purchases and planned activities within the ORLEN Group were discussed. The teleconference provided an important forum for both sides to better understand each other’s needs and opportunities, and to explore the potential for cooperation in vegetable oil supply and UCO. MBF Group SA’s management expects the meeting to contribute to building the foundation for possible cooperation.

Due to the fact that ORLEN, as one of the leading companies in the fuel industry, has expressed interest in potential cooperation with the Issuer in the field of vegetable oil and UCO supplies, the Company has decided to immediately start the certification procedure required for the delivery of the above-mentioned oils. products. Sustainability certifications such as KZR (National Sustainability Seal), REDCERT (Renewable Energy Directive Certification) or ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) are important tools in the field of environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility. Having one of the above is a necessary criterion for starting cooperation with ORLEN.

KZR (National Sustainability Label):

  1. Sustainable management of natural resources: The company must demonstrate that it conducts its operations with respect for the environment and minimizes its negative impact on it.
  2. Responsible management of human resources: This requires adherence to labor rights laws, the provision of safe and decent working conditions, and attention to employee development.
  3. Corporate social responsibility: The Company must undertake community outreach and engage in various social initiatives.

  1. Increased customer confidence: Customers increasingly prefer companies that care about the environment and the community, which can lead to increased sales.
  2. Competitiveness in the market: Being certified by the NZR can be an added advantage against competitors, especially if customers consider sustainability when making purchasing decisions.
  3. Better relations with stakeholders: Being certified can help build better relationships with stakeholders such as investors, business partners and the local community.

REDCERT (Renewable Energy Directive Certification):

  1. Obtaining energy from renewable sources: The company must prove that it is using energy from renewable sources, such as solar, wind or hydropower.
  2. Minimizing greenhouse gas emissions: It is necessary to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases.
  3. Transparency and reporting: the company must regularly report on its activities regarding the use of renewable energy and emission reductions.

  1. Environmental image: being REDCERT certified allows a company to promote itself as environmentally responsible, which can attract customers interested in environmentally friendly products and services.
  2. Supporting the fight against climate change: REDCERT-certified activities contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which has a positive impact on the fight against climate change.
  3. Access to green markets: Some markets or institutions may require energy or product suppliers to be REDCERT certified, opening up new business opportunities for REDCERT holders.

ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification):

  1. Sustainable biofuel production: If a company is interested in producing or using biofuels, ISCC requires certain sustainability criteria to be met, such as the cultivation of raw materials.
  2. Tracking greenhouse gas emissions: ISCC imposes requirements for monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions associated with manufacturing and transportation.
  3. Respect for human and labor rights: The Company must respect human and labor rights standards, including the prohibition of child labor and discrimination.

  1. Acceptance in international markets: Having ISCC certification can make it easier to export products to countries that require proof of sustainable production.
  2. Increasing customer confidence: ISCC certification can build customer confidence in products, especially if there is a growing interest in ethical and sustainable shopping.
  3. Meeting regulatory requirements: In some jurisdictions, ISCC certification may be required to meet certain regulatory standards for biofuel production and use.

All of these certifications share the common goal of promoting sustainable economic development by minimizing negative environmental impacts, caring for the community and promoting the efficient use of natural resources. Obtaining them can bring a variety of benefits to both the company and its stakeholders, both in economic, social and environmental terms.

MBF Group views the meeting positively and hopes that it will become the foundation for further cooperation with ORLEN. The company has already decided to immediately begin the certification procedure required for the supply of vegetable oils and UCO.

Potential benefits for MBF Group:

At the same time, the Issuer’s Management Board assesses that, regardless of the final outcome, the request for an offer from the Company, the final teleconference and the selection of the Company as a potential supplier to ORLEN is a great added value for the Issuer in terms of the Company’s external perception, its transparency, the attractiveness of the offered products and market recognition as a reliable supplier.
