Antidrones (C-UAS)

Antidrone Systems (C-UAS).

Unmanned aerial vehicles have become one of the fastest growing tools of modern military, crisis and criminal operations. The growing number of drone incidents, including airspace violations, reconnaissance, sabotage or disruption of critical infrastructure, requires the implementation of advanced countermeasures.

MBF Group S.A. is developing C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems) systems to detect, classify, track and neutralize threats generated by drones – both single platforms and UAV swarms.

Our goal is to deliver solutions that provide information superiority and protect people, infrastructure and operations, based on sensor integration, signal analysis and predictive technologies.

The importance of C-UAS systems in today’s security environment

In recent years, drone threats have increased manifold, reaching strategic and operational scale. C-UAS systems have become an essential piece of equipment:

  • critical infrastructure,

  • military bases and airfields,

  • industrial facilities,

  • border units,

  • uniformed services,

  • state institutions,

  • large private enterprises.

Drones can carry payloads, conduct surveillance, disrupt communications and affect the operation of information systems. For this reason, anti-drone systems must be multilayered, fast and resistant to enemy action.

Types of threats that C-UAS systems respond to

Reconnaissance drones (ISR)

Using optics and data transmission to conduct surveillance of military and civilian facilities.

Strike drones

Capable of carrying explosive charges or hazardous substances.

Swarm UAV systems

Capable of acting autonomously and overloading saturation defenses.

Commercial drones converted into attack tools

Easy to obtain, difficult to detect, also used by criminal groups.

Unmanned disruption platforms

Devices that interfere with radio communications, GPS systems or industrial systems.

MBF Group S.A.’s C-UAS competencies

MBF Group S.A. designs and integrates technologies that enable a full chain of defense against drones – from detection to analysis to neutralization.

1. detection and classification of threats

We use:

  • RF sensors,

  • signal spectrum analysis,

  • microwave radars,

  • optical and thermal imaging systems,

  • multi-object tracking algorithms.

The system can identify platform type, flight route, technical parameters and potential operator intent.

2. threat assessment and data analysis

Advanced software modules analyze flight paths and make decisions about the degree of risk.

3. neutralization and counteraction

Depending on the operating environment, these include:

  • means of disrupting communications,

  • UAV sensor disorientation systems,

  • kinetic methods,

  • Defense operations based on unmanned platforms.

Neutralization is selected in accordance with the law and the unit’s operating procedures.

4. systems integration

MBF Group provides the ability to combine C-UAS with:

  • command systems,

  • Perimeter protection infrastructure,

  • existing sensors,

  • UAV platforms,

  • training and simulation systems.

Implementation of C-UAS systems in various sectors

Anti-drone systems are used in:

Military sector

Protection of bases, logistics columns, command posts, airfields and training grounds.

Border services and public security

Monitoring space, countering smuggling and air penetration.

Critical infrastructure

Energy, industrial plants, processing plants, refineries, seaports.

Industry and large enterprises

Protection of production facilities and warehouses.

Public administration units

Strengthening the security of state and local government institutions.

C-UAS systems within the MBF consortium – the way forward

MBF Group S.A. is developing anti-drone technologies in cooperation with:

  • military experts,

  • technology companies,

  • polytechnics and research institutes,

  • consortium partners,

  • MBF Advisory Alliance Platform participants.

C-UAS systems are also a component of MBF Group’s larger development projects, full descriptions of which can be found in the PROJECTS tab.

Operational readiness and cooperation

MBF Group S.A. is prepared to:

  • Implementing anti-drone systems at military and civilian facilities,

  • C-UAS integration with existing security systems,

  • Conducting threat analyses and audits,

  • Designing solutions to customer requirements,

  • Cooperation with public institutions and international partners.

Our solutions are scalable, modular and tailored to the specific operating environment.
