The pellet and biomass energy market is entering the 2026/2027 heating season amid strong interest in wholesale purchases. MBF Group has seen an increase in inquiries from fuel wholesalers, combined heat and power plants, and trading companies seeking regular supplies. Customers pay attention to price, but they are also increasingly asking about fuel specifications, documentation, and the ability to schedule larger volumes. In response to these needs, we are offering two products: wood pellets with a declared A1 rating and sunflower husk pellets.
The importance of pellets is also confirmed by data on the international market. According to a Bioenergy Europe report published in June 2026, global wood pellet production in 2025 reached 53.5 million metric tons, representing a 10% increase over the previous year. Global pellet consumption totaled 51.5 million metric tons, with Europe accounting for approximately 70% of global demand, which included industrial applications and heating for smaller facilities. These figures illustrate the scale of the market, while the inquiries received by MBF Group indicate strong interest in securing supplies ahead of the peak heating season.
The materials used for heat production include coal, firewood, wood chips, briquettes, and various types of biomass. Different fuels vary in calorific value, moisture content, ash content, and storage and combustion requirements. Pellets are characterized by their compressed form, which facilitates dosing and operation in appropriately adapted systems. When choosing a fuel, it’s a good idea to compare the cost of generating heat, taking into account boiler efficiency, transportation, and maintenance, rather than focusing solely on the price per metric ton.
One of the practical advantages of wood pellets over firewood is the ability to feed the fuel automatically. Its compact form also helps reduce storage space compared to less compact fuels, such as wood chips. Low humidity and properly selected parameters help in planning system operation and fuel consumption. Pellets also offer consumers who use biomass-compatible equipment the opportunity to diversify their fuel sources. The final choice should take into account the requirements of the specific installation, as wood pellets and pellets made from agricultural raw materials have different combustion properties.
A1 Wood Pellets — Wholesale Offer with Pickup in Gdańsk
The agreements signed by MBF Group with manufacturers form the basis for fulfilling one-time orders and for cooperation involving regular deliveries. Starting October 1, 2026, we will be accepting orders for both types of pellets shown and arranging delivery dates. This offer is intended for wholesalers, distributors, industrial customers, and companies that resell fuels. We can handle larger volumes of automotive shipments, and, for properly planned contracts, rail shipments as well. We determine the size of individual shipments and the schedule in consultation with the buyer, taking into account product availability, loading capacity, and pickup conditions.
The first option is wood pellets with a declared A1 rating, offered in bulk from a warehouse in Gdańsk. The laboratory report submitted in August 2026 indicates that the total moisture content of the tested sample is 6.0%. The ash content was 0.3%, and the sulfur content was 0.02%. The calorific value in its usable state reached 17.54 MJ/kg, or approximately 4.87 kWh/kg. These are the results of a test on a specific sample, which are used to evaluate the product; however, the specifications required for the deliveries are specified in the order or contract.
The price of wood pellets in this offer is 1,320 PLN net per metric ton, with pickup from the warehouse in Gdańsk. This amounts to approximately 301.37 EUR net per metric ton at an exchange rate of 4.38 PLN per 1 EUR. The minimum order is five full truckloads, and picking up pellets in bulk requires flatbed trucks. The payment terms call for a 50% advance payment and the remaining 50% after loading and weighing, before the truck leaves the warehouse. The price does not include onward transportation; for a long-term contract, we will agree on a pickup schedule and commercial terms.
Quality documentation is particularly important for customers who purchase fuel for resale or for their own facilities. MBF Group provides materials that allow you to review the test results and specifications of the pellets it offers. The laboratory report provided confirms the results of the tested sample, but does not in and of itself constitute an ENplus certificate. Before fulfilling an order, we agree on quality and documentation requirements, allowing the buyer to assess the product’s suitability for its intended use.

Sunflower-husk pellets — biomass for combined heat and power plants and industry
MBF Group’s second offering is sunflower hull pellets sourced from Kazakhstan, intended primarily for customers with systems designed to use agricultural biomass. The raw material is the husk produced during sunflower processing, which is then used to produce fuel in the form of pellets. In the submitted list of deliveries for March 2026, the weighted average calorific value was approximately 17.28 MJ/kg, or 4.80 kWh/kg. The weighted average ash content for this comparison was 2.94%; these figures are historical and for reference purposes only. A higher ash content than that found in the wood pellet sample indicates the need to select a fuel that is appropriate for the combustion technology and the customer’s requirements.
The price of sunflower hull pellets in this offer is 176 EUR net per metric ton, or 770.88 PLN net at an exchange rate of 4.38 PLN per 1 EUR. The goods are offered in big bags for pickup in Małaszewicze, and the price includes loading onto the buyer’s vehicle. The minimum order is two full truckloads, with a 50% deposit and 50% due upon loading, before the goods are released. For orders of more than two cars, we require 100% prepayment, in accordance with the agreed-upon contract terms. For larger customers, we can prepare a schedule for deliveries by truck or rail, with transportation costs to the final destination determined separately.
For deliveries to combined heat and power plants, both the fuel’s parameters and documentation of the biomass’s origin are important. The materials received include SURE-EU certificates for entities participating in the supply chain, an audit report, and quality reports. The SURE system pertains to compliance with sustainability and traceability criteria; therefore, it does not replace testing of the parameters of a specific fuel batch. For the planned contract, we determine the required scope of documentation, the validity of certificates, and the method for providing information regarding deliveries. This preparation makes it easier for the customer to evaluate the product before entering into a contract and to plan for future cooperation.
